| 1:36.4 | Germany and from East Prussia. And there was also the possibility that they would be surrounded and |
| 1:41.3 | destroyed without being able to retreat south and east towards |
| 1:44.8 | Warsaw. Most of Army Pomorcia's strength was also positioned northwest of the Vistula River, |
| 1:50.6 | which made it critical that bridges over the river be held and protected to keep open that line of |
| 1:55.1 | retreat. Army Pomorcia would pay the price in blood to the political need to defend the corridor. The army would be |
