Hello friend. I am so glad you're here. I'm Julie Bogart. This is the Brave Rider podcast and we are winging our way right into

season 8. I took a nice break over the summer where I got to finally, like many of

you, travel, see family, catch up with people I haven't seen in two years.

I don't know about you, but it's been really wonderful to get out of the house, to see nature, to be with the people I love.

It is time, however, to buckle in for not only another season of the

podcast, but a really exciting season in our lives together, mine and yours.

As most of you know, I have been writing a book and that book is suddenly set to launch. The publication date is

February 1st but today the day we're dropping this podcast, is pre-sales launch.

The name of the book is Raising Critical Thinkers,

A Parents Guide to Growing wise kids in the digital age.

It's published by Tarther Pirigy, which is an imprint of Penguin Random House.

Here's the deal. I'm super excited about this book. It's because I spent decades

thinking about

critical thinking,

critical thinking, self-aware thinking,

paying attention to your own thoughts,

metacognition, whatever you want to call it,

has evolved significantly over those decades,

both in my personal life, in my professional life,

in working with the students in Brave Writer, in teaching

students at Xavier University. In other words, these ideas are really important to me.
