You're probably in the wrong YouTube video.

You're really quite something you are.

0:03.0

Aren't I?

0:04.0

But you're really quite nothing.

0:05.0

Right? You're not a Christian. I'm done with him. That's a catac. You're equivocating again. Look, can we bring this back to the point here? No, no, no. And this is why I think normative ethics is kind of a meme. No, no, we should have these universal lab salutes. To me, it just kind of kicks the can down the road. The point is that, okay, if God explains those facts in some way

0:23.6

or arranges those values or properties in that way,

0:26.6

then what fixes the divine psychology in that way?

0:29.6

But it's even stranger for me to take what's classically understood as a universal,

0:33.6

like a property, and say that some entity is identical to that property. And I guess the divine

0:39.1

simplicity stuff, which I can't make sense of.

Welcome everyone to the Council of Trent. My guest today is Danny Phil Talk. If you are on TikTok,

YouTube, religious debates, you may have seen him there. And a year ago, you might have seen him all over social media with a viral clip of him interacting with Jordan Peterson. We're going to talk about atheism, online apologetics, religion, all that and more. Danny, welcome the council of Trent. Yeah, thanks for having me on. It's already been a year, huh, since all of them. Yes, when I went to get the clips, and I'll show everyone in the clips as we discussed them, I went and I looked at the date and I was like, I can't believe it's been May 2025, but it's been just a year since then. And still, I just have it in my head just, I have a lot of Jordan Peterson memorized in my head because he's so memorable. It's just like, I haven't told you that,

1:28.1

have I? Why don't you go clean your room? Why are you here? I feel like he was about to do that to me.

1:33.6

He was about to do that. So why don't you give our listeners and our viewers just a little bit of

1:39.2

background on yourself, who you are, what you believe, and kind of what you've been doing in the

1:43.8

online space. Yeah, so my name is Danny. I'm really interested in philosophy, specifically philosophy religion, but like, you know, the other branches of philosophy. You're just not as fun to talk about or debate about sometimes for other people. So I focus on a lot of the philosophy of religion. I used to be a Christian. I de-converted in 2020, so rather recent. At least it feels

2:01.8

recent. And before, when I was a Christian, I like doing apologetics. And when I'm an atheist,

2:07.0

I like doing the, I guess, counter-apologetics is what you might call it. But I also have an

2:12.7

academic interest. So there's like a sort of, you know, rhetorical debate, bro, part of my content. But then, you know, sometimes I settle down and get into the ingredient of the academic stuff as well. So primarily interested in philosophy, religion. Yeah. Okay. And when did you start doing sort of this online content? Probably in 2017. I started making a lot more content in 2021, but I was around online. I had some

2:36.8

small presence from 2017. So before 2020, before you deconverted, were you making Christian

2:42.7

content? Or just more like more neutral content? I was just talking to everybody that was willing to

2:46.5

talk. I, I'm one of those, I like to debate and people, most people don't like to debate, especially debate about religion.
