one of the early female Lutheran pastors dies at 82.

Holley quietly led efforts toward inclusion and women's rights in and outside the church.

Well, it was the early 80s when she was ordained and that was sometime after the very first

Lutheran pastor that was a female was ordained.

How did that happen and how is it now that in some Lutheran church bodies, like the Evangelical

Lutheran Church in America, well, females make up more than half of the pastors in that church.
