Hello and welcome to many episode 116 of Real Life Goal Stories, and I have

0:29.9

seven spooky stories for you today and the last story comes from April 11th 2021 and story

0:35.9

number one comes from Scarlett. When my mom was eight years old her mom, my nan, used to work

0:43.4

part-time as a sewing machinist. On the day she had to work she used to leave my mom and her brother

0:49.3

with one of the neighbors called Mrs. Rice. Mrs. Rice was an elderly lady who looked after them for

0:55.7

years. My mom loved her and they always had so much fun when she used to babysit both of them.

1:02.4

My uncle was only three at the time so he can't re-remember much. My nan and granddad decided to

1:07.8

move from the street that they live on to the next village across into a bigger house, which meant

1:13.2

leaving all the old neighbors and Mrs. Rice behind. My mom was upset by this but knew that they'd

1:19.6

be able to keep in touch and visit as their new house really wasn't far away at all. A few weeks

1:25.0

after moving into the new house my mom woke up in the middle of the night and saw Mrs. Rice at the

1:29.6

end of her bed smiling at her. She said she didn't feel scared because she knew she was but at the

1:35.6

same time it made her jump. Being only eight years old she couldn't understand why Mrs. Rice was

1:41.1

there. She ran into my nan and granddad's room distressed and explained what happened. My nan

1:47.6

calmed her down and told her she was just dreaming and took her back to bed. Obviously Mrs. Rice was

1:53.0

nowhere to be seen. Three days later they went back to their old house to collect the rest of their

1:58.8

belongings. My nan got chatty with their old neighbors and asked how Mrs. Rice was. The neighbor

2:05.6

looked at my nan and said Mrs. Rice died three days ago. To this day mom was always believed on the

2:13.5

night that she saw her Mrs. Rice came to say goodbye. The story has always given me chills but I

2:20.0

think it's quite comforting because of how close they were and she didn't want to leave this world

2:24.0

without saying goodbye. I love the stories of loved ones coming back to say goodbye and you can

2:29.2

never underestimate the impact that you have on somebody's life while for the kids like Mrs. Rice
