Because we've all been beat down by tiny bits of plastic, but we've been talking about other kinds of beat down. Yeah, that's true.

David and I, before we started recording, we're talking about physical violence and physical safety.

I was saying, I think that we might be in an interesting period because I happen to feel like maybe we are experiencing a little bit of

hysteria over personal safety.

And I have a theory about this.

I think that there's so much constant structural and institutional violence being levied

at people all the time, like especially in the United States.

Like especially if you're- Well, especially elsewhere. especially elsewhere because of the United States too everywhere everywhere like we were all in

different ways and to different extremes based on the extent of your

marginalization being physically mentally spiritually I will say harmed by

capitalism by imperialism people who aren't white by white supremacy spiritually, I will say, harmed by capitalism. Yeah, I'm spiritually harmed all the time.

By imperialism, people who aren't white, by white supremacy, by bigotry, by biases, by all these things.

And we feel so helpless to do anything about it.

So I think the way that we respond is by maybe going overboard and being overly precious about our personal safety in smaller areas.

So this is my theory because it's like, well, how the fuck do I stop the constant structural

violence of poverty, for example, or of white supremacy, or of capitalism, of American

imperialism, of the for-profit prison industrial complex or the for-profit war machine.
