Today's topic is dealing with business cards at and after a conference.

Oh boy, meetings! I just love meetings. No, I don't. I hate meetings. They drag on forever. They cover three topics.

And if you're lucky, they might include a tiny bit of spice when the rumor surfaces that

Bernice and Melvin are an item.

Ha, ha, you laugh happily at the notion for a moment until your mind actually constructs

the visual.

Then you leap out of your seat and run for the bathroom, hoping you make it before you hurl.

If you make the meeting big with people you don't know about cool stuff in a city far from

Bernice, then it becomes a conference. Oh boy, a conference. I love conferences. I just got back

from a conference. Did I tell you, I love conferences? People there don't know me,

so they think I'm really interesting. I can tell them about my lame job using words like

synergistic and paradigm changing, and they think I'm the best thing since sliced hot dog buns.

And they listen. I stand so they can't quite squeeze by me, and they're my new friend forever.

I get their business cards, and by the time the conference is over, I have 20 to 30 new friends,

all in the form of little 2.5 by 3 inch pieces of cardboard.

Life is good.
