Des is huge in Ireland.

He doesn't have quite that same profile in the UK,

but he has, he's one of those people,

I think from the perspective of a British comic,

he's one of those people who has clearly been around for ages. You go on Amazon, you see all the DVDs of his you can get and you're like,

oh my God, how did I not know more about this guy? In recent years, Des has made a name for himself, or more of a name for himself, doing very, very

powerful, very personal work and most recently of all, and that's going to be the

focus of a lot of this show, he's done a show called Made in China which was about

his two or three years that he spent two years I think he spent in China learning

Mandarin to the extent that he can now perform stand-up comedy in Mandarin.
