Abraham and his wife Sarah had been living on a promise for, well, 25 years from the time

that God first called Abraham and said, by the way, I'll make of you a great nation,

they'd been waiting for that nation to show up.

And when it does finally show up, it's in the form of one child, Isaac.

And well, one year before Isaac's birth, God reiterates the promise and Sarah laughs.
