Hello and welcome to Bible's stories. Today we present to you a special bonus

podcast as we approach the Easter week. Today we'll follow the actions of

Jesus as he begins the Easter week.

It's Palm Sunday.

A day filled with joy and meaning.

And for the first time, a large crowd will celebrate Jesus heralding him as Messiah and King. But as

we'll see there's deeper meaning that the cheering crowds are missing and an

ancient plan that will unfold and literally changed the world.

Let's set this stage. It's a time of discontent in the Holy Land and the Jewish people are anxious for change.

The promised land is currently occupied by foreign oppressors and the Jewish people are forced to live under the hand of the Romans.

Certainly God's chosen people have experienced oppressors before.

In fact, there's a laundry list of nations who have forced God's people into submission throughout

the years, and the Romans, they're simply the latest to carry the mantle.

But this isn't the way things are supposed to be.

It's certainly not the way they're going to end up.

The scriptures paint a picture of the future Israel that will be a center of power and wealth and certainly under Jewish control.

But how do they get there?

A Jewish uprising seems to stand little chance of success, but there is one hope. A hope passed from one generation to the next, a

whisper of strength from the oppressed. One day, God will send a rescue.

And according to the scriptures,

deliverance would take the form of a man, one called a Messiah,

the one who will deliver peace and restore the joy of a broken Jewish people.
