Summary

Okay y'all, you've likely heard this story before... by us. But we're revisiting it because we've learned so much more about it since two and a half years ago. We're bringing a more raw and in-depth version of the murders of Lisa Ann Millican and Janice Kay Chatman, at the hands of Judith and Alvin Neelley. Judith and Alvin are an unconventional couple who married when Judith was a teenager and Alvin was in his late 20s. They went on to commit a series of crimes including armed robbery and check forgery, that eventually escalated to murder.

0:28.2

Welcome back our delictibles.

0:30.0

We are super excited to have tonight's epic story for you.

0:35.1

And when I mean epic, this one is so big, we cannot contain it to just one

0:40.2

episode. I know, I know, Jodi Arias, we just came off of a two-parter, but trust me. Yeah, so we are, as

0:50.8

y'all may have heard, we are diving back into a case that we have done before.

0:56.4

This was the second case that we ever did.

1:00.4

And it ended up being kind of a sticking point.

1:05.8

It's kind of become like a corpus delicti cultural thing because we've ended up referring to it the whole two

1:13.3

and a half years now. And as we have grown and learned more about researching and gained access

1:20.4

to more databases that we did not have before, we have learned so much more about this case that we said we've got to redo this because we have

1:30.8

found so much more than we did the first time.

1:35.4

But before then, let's get you up to date with Jody Arras's trial.

1:40.2

Quick update on Jody.

1:42.2

In the last episode, briefly, we had mentioned how in court, one of the experts provided emails from some of Travis's friends to Jody saying, stay away from him. He's abusive. He's bad for you. And we had said that that was really kind of one of the only things

2:03.3

that seemed to point to him being abusive. And I don't even know how I found it, but I came

2:09.6

across one article where these friends ended up speaking out and provided clarification on it

2:17.4

and said that they basically had been manipulated

2:20.0

by Jody. Jody was talking to them and saying, Travis is so bad to me. He's saying this to me.

2:25.2

He did this to me. And they said, hey, he's bad. You need to get away from him. He's abusive.
