Here's Paul she was

she was completely distressed about her life she couldn't make sense out of it

she was discouraged.

She was depressed.

She had long since quit going to God for help.

She kept going to church on Sunday.

She kept going to her small group.

But in terms of a living, vital, childlike, trust in God, it was over. She couldn't understand why God would ever allow her life to be as difficult and chaotic as it was.

Sally would say, where's his grace?

Where's his mercy?

Where's his faithfulness?

Where is this God they've been telling me about?

He was at the opposite end of the spectrum.

Josh had it all.

He had the big car. He had the great job.

He'd had phenomenal vacations.

He had zoomed up the corporate ladder.

He had the condo on Writtenhouse Square.

If you would look at Josh's life, you would say, wow, if only.

And yet something was happening to Josh.
