When I was a Baptist seminarian, looking at these different texts, the things I started seeing didn't look, sound, or appear in any way to the Baptist Church I belonged to.

And so that moved you, though, from being a Baptist to being an Anglican.

I think if every Anglican is honest, they have to wrestle with the subject of Rome

and the papacy because it's in your history.

Welcome to the Council of Trent. My guest today is Stephen Boyce. He's the host of the Fax

YouTube channel. Fax is a theological,

historical podcast, uncovers the foundations of the Christian faith through scripture, early church

history, and patristic writings. Stephen and I had previously clashed over church history and

patristics when we debated the doctrine justification by faith alone, specifically

in the early church several years ago.

And Stephen has undergone his own faith journey from Baptist to Anglican to Catholic now.

So it's a really interesting journey, and we've crossed paths before, and he's assisted
