The Cards We’re Excited About for 2025
Jess kicks things off with a breakdown of the credit cards she’s targeting, starting with the Capital One Spark Cash Plus and a high-value 80,000-mile Alaska Airlines personal card offer. Pam and Alex are also planning to go for the Capital One Spark Cash Plus, while Alex shares how she’s strategizing with Citi AAdvantage business cards to maximize welcome offers. The key takeaway? Timing matters when it comes to opening new cards and meeting bonus requirements.

Trips We’ve Already Booked

Highlights include:

Welcome to Points Talk with the Travel Mom Squad.

We are three moms who've discovered how to leverage credit card welcome offers to get

0:22.1

hundreds of thousands of dollars of travel expenses for nearly free. We've used credit card

0:27.2

points of miles to take vacations to places like Hawaii, Paris, Greece, Maldives, Japan, and so much

0:33.6

more. And the best part, we each still have 800 plus credit scores. Imagine being able to

0:39.4

take the vacation of your dreams for nearly free. It's totally possible and we're here to show you

0:44.3

how. Hey, I'm Alex and I'm Pam, Alex's mom. And I'm Jess. Let's Talk Points. Today we are talking all about 2025, including the plans that we've

0:57.5

already made and the ones that we are considering. We tend to book pretty far in advance to secure

1:04.0

award availability. So we have trips booked well into 2025 already. But first, let's start with the cards that are currently on our radar for 2025.

1:17.6

So I'm going to kick it off.

1:19.9

I, in the 2024 episode, talked about how I had recently opened the Capital One Spark Cash

1:27.1

Plus business card. That is the one that has the

1:31.2

currently 200,000 point welcome offer. It's technically $2,000 cash back. If you have a venture or

1:37.7

venture X, you can convert that cash back into points. And so I really want to get that card for

1:44.0

also. We have to wait

1:46.5

until it's been a full year since he had the Venturex business to be able to close that card,

1:52.8

wait 30 days, and then try to open the Spark Cash Plus for him. I don't know if this offer is

1:58.5

still going to be around by the time all. I think February is his one

2:03.5

year since he got the Venturex business. And so I'm going to basically close it as soon as I can

2:09.1

get that 30 day clock ticking and hope that this $2,000 cashback offer is still available. If it is,
