Summary

Another pretty good episode from The Walking Dead. Maybe not every aspect, but they brought around the Maggie / Negan relationship well enough that we're able to look past its rocky start. Maybe the hardest pill to swallow this episode is the delay tactics happening in the commonwealth. There's a lot of people needing things to happen, asking for those things, and nearly getting those things only for the show to rip them away at the last moment. We know, deep down at your core you've always been a show about cheap thrills, but you can do better, The Walking Dead. A big thank you to Mysteriana for creating the Watching Dead theme music. And today we're talking about season 11, episode 7, title promises broken.

0:39.0

Uh, that's ominous.

0:42.0

Considering promises were made this episode, that seems like a bad future.

0:46.0

But these promises, uh, Aron, what do you think of this episode?

0:50.0

I think I really like this episode.

0:53.0

Uh, I thought that the, the, the moral dilemmas that they put, uh, to the, um,

1:01.5

reapers and, and kind of pinch Leah and Darryl in were interesting.

1:07.0

I thought the stuff, like, I, again, I wasn't a fan of how we got to this Maggie and Negan situation.

1:13.0

But like, it's played out right now as if it had gone the way I'd wanted it to.

1:18.0

So I can kind of forget some of those missteps.

1:20.0

I thought that stuff was pretty good.

1:22.0

Like the, the analysis of the, the shifting morality and Negan made some good points.

1:27.0

Um, the only thing I, I guess the only thing I didn't really like is I felt like maybe they're

1:34.0

telling the commonwealth is secretly evil story a little bit more abruptly.

1:40.0

Like it doesn't feel like boiling the frog.

1:42.0

It's like, it's something like either part of the orientation should have been the cast system

1:47.0

that everyone's operating under and like the state police kind of thing, you know.

1:52.0

Uh, or they should have, like I said, slow boiled, boiled the frogs a little bit more.

1:58.0

Uh, but we'll see if that, that, that compression actually, you know, because it's clear to me that this is where they're going anyway.
