We're just glad you're here with us, and we're going to, we got a great show for you. Second hour will be Tim Staples. Is it open for him with Tim Staples? Open for him with Tim Staples. Second hour.

First hour, tradition. I would like to sing the song, but I'm still recovering from a cold, so I can't sing the song, but it has become a Catholic answers tradition at this time of the year, every year, to have our very good friend Gary Zamac on, who has written all kinds of wonderful books.

0:51.0

But is most famous for the book, give up, worry for lent, 40 days to finding peace in Christ, and the tradition continues. Gary Zamac, thanks for being with us.

1:01.0

Hey, Sy, it's a pleasure to be back on with you. We're doing it once again.

1:05.0

We are, yeah, and I love this tradition, mostly because I like to see you, Gary, but also, because I strongly believe, and I think I say this to you every year, I think a lack of peace, a sense of worry, is the primary obstacle in the spirit.

1:20.0

A obstacle in the spiritual life to most people in the modern world.

1:24.0

Exactly, and here we are in lent, trying to get closer to God, and worry is something that keeps us away from him, right? And Jesus said, don't worry.

1:33.0

So obviously, there's something to that we should be working on that. And you know, Sy, people have kidded with me, and they said, well, your book didn't work because I do it every year.

1:43.0

But every year, we have different problems, new challenges, the world's a different place. So this is an ongoing process.

1:52.0

Well, I mean, especially if you're a worrier, which almost everybody is now. I mean, it's just, it's hard to keep track of all the things we're supposed to keep track of, and money's a problem, or marriage, or kids are a problem.

2:05.0

And so I always something to worry about. It's not that worry is not something that just gets cured.

2:11.0

It's something that you have to live with and manage, and sometimes you need to start back at square one because you're obsessing again.

2:22.0

Yeah, really. Every year, it's funny. I wrote the book, but I benefit from it because when I go out and lead these parish missions,

2:31.0

and I do my daily reflections based on the book, and I do shows like this, I read some of the Bible verses and the reflections that I say, wow, yeah, I need to work on that because, you know, I have that tendency to be anxious.

2:44.0

But Sy, that tendency is what keeps me humble and keeps me remembering how much I need the Lord in my life.

2:53.0

Yeah, by the way, the number is, I'm going to talk to Gary and not give out the number because I love talking to Gary about 888-318-788-4.

3:01.0

Triple 8-318-788-4, maybe you are a worrier, maybe you have that anxiety, and you want to know what does the Lord have to offer?

3:11.0

What does the Lord call you to do in dealing with that? Gary's very good at helping you with that. If you'd like some help, 888-318-788-4.

3:20.0

Now, Gary, this morning, I was like, oh, I got to bring Gary's book in so I can hold it up like this, and I didn't have to look for it because I think I tell you this every year, but my wife's doing it again for Lent.

3:34.0

She loves this book, and whatever else she does for Lent, this is always part of her Lent journey, going day by day through, give up, worry for Lent.

3:45.0
