Joe Biden was sworn in as the 46th President of the United States this week.

In his inauguration speech, Biden hailed the resilience of American democracy.

He repeatedly called for unity and an end to the uncivil war of words.

He also vowed to root out and defeat what he calls domestic terrorism, political extremism, and white supremacy.

The inauguration took place as Washington, D.C. was flooded with 25,000 members of the National

Guard, anticipating a violent attack following the storming of the capital several weeks ago.
