What is going on? Welcome to the fit, healthy, and happy podcast. I'm your host, Josh, here with my co-host. KG in the house. What's your full name, KG? Kyle Joseph Grandin. I'm wondering if no one knows that your name's Kyle, because we say KG. Yeah, I guess everyone on YouTube would know my name. Actually, no, we don't even say our names on YouTube. We just say Colossus Fitness. Some people are just like, oh, what's your name again?

0:22.0

Yeah, people get us confused a lot, which is interesting. But that's all right. I mean, no one really needs to know my name. Who cares? I'm just a person creating good content. Kyle, you're changing people's lives out here, buddy. Yeah, but just call me coach. Yeah, coach is good. Coach.

So what's the topic today, big guy?

0:41.3

To, Yeah, coach is good. Coach, just call me coach. Coach Colossus. Coach Colossus.

0:37.9

I like it. It works for both people. So what's the topic today, Bigot? Today we are going to be talking about habits. Specifically, we'll call this Hacking Your Habits, and we'll just basically dive into this because we find as coaches and just, you know, personal trainers and whatever you want to call us even like like athletes, that habits, you know, technically are probably one of the most important things that you can implement and just kind of establish into your daily routine to set yourself up for success.

1:03.9

And, yeah, habits kind of go at the root of everything, especially in fitness, your habits will kind of dictate what you do.

1:09.8

And habits go both the way is they can be

1:11.5

positive or they can be negative. And obviously habit hacking is a huge buzz thing right now. So we want to

1:17.1

give you our thoughts on it and kind of go through some things you can do to really be successful

1:21.9

and some habits you probably want to avoid. What comes to mind first, Kyle? So for me, there's so many different things. And honestly, I have a bookshelf of books that basically talk about habits. And I've found that, um, just, you know, obviously if you can set yourself up, you're good to go. Um, I'm just going to basically give you a bunch of tips that I've learned. Um, and I would say, be the, you want to make your habit attractive. So if it's something that's just like you're not going to do or you're, you know, it's just not like appealing to you at all. You want to find a way to make it attractive. And I'd say one way you could do it is just set a goal within the habit. So okay, if I wake up every day at 5 a.m., that's obviously a habit. Waking up at 5 a.m. is a habit that's going to set yourself up for success with the gym. Then at the end of the week on day six, I will blank. Whatever it is, it's attractive. You're going to want to do it. There's intention. There's purpose. So that's something that I would do if

2:17.5

you guys really struggle with getting to the gym or just anything at all. And yeah, for me next would be face it, my next best tip would be to face habits head on. So, you know, if let's say I have a problem with money, I spend way too much money. At the end of the day, I could say all day and tomorrow, I'm going to be better. I'm not going to spend as much.

2:35.9

But unless I actually track it and kind of face it head on and see exactly what's happening, see the data. You will not be successful. So that's an easy example with money. You know, perhaps you write down everything you spend money on so you can see it or, you know, your credit card statements, you know, daily. where for fitness, you know, if you don't go to the gym or you feel like, I need to go to the gym more, at the end of the day, like if at the end of the week you're not tracking it, it'll really just slip you by. Whereas if you, you know, set something up like you write down or on a calendar, you put an X across every day you go. and you say, okay, my goal, let's go four times. And you look at it at the end of the week and you go, wow, only went once.

Where do time go?

3:10.0

Then at least you're

3:10.6

aware what's happening right like I find a lot of people have bad habits because they honestly

3:14.9

don't know any better because they're lying to themselves and not facing the realities head on

3:19.4

I love it my next one go ahead oh. Yeah. So write this down.
