Summary

Tia Sharp was 12 years old in the summer of 2012, and the Olympics had come to her city, London. She was a carefree and bubbly young girl and was close with her family. Which is why it was so surprising when she went missing from her grandmothers house in New Addington, South London. They knew she wasn’t a runaway. A huge search began for the missing girl, and eventually she was found – in the home she had gone missing from. Suspicion fell on the man she knew as her step-gradfather, Stuart Hazel. 0:46.6	for the throngs of visitors and athletes that would descend on the capital city for those few months,
0:52.0	building stadiums and infrastructure. But amidst the excitement
0:56.8	and jubilation of the people of London as Teen G.B. accumulated metals, 12-year-old
1:02.1	Tia Sharp went missing.
1:05.6	On Friday the 3rd of August, Tia Sharp was last seen leaving her grandmother's house in New
1:10.6	Addington.
1:11.6	It was a house that she spent a lot of her childhood in, though she lived
1:15.0	in Mitcham about five miles away with her mother, stepfather, and two baby brothers. They were
1:20.4	three and one at the time. She had received an invitation by texts that weekend from
1:25.7	her grandmother's boyfriend of five years, Stuart Hazel. He was a window cleaner and shared a house
1:31.6	with Christine Becknell, Tia's maternal grandmother.
1:34.9	New Addington was not the best area in South London. It's just on the outskirts of
1:41.0	Croydon and suffers from high unemployment, low educational achievement, and lots and lots of teen mothers.
1:49.0	One of the gangs from the area is reported to have taken part in the London riots the year before.
1:53.4	Tia was allowed out in the neighborhood and was heading to a shopping center to buy flip-flops
1:58.9	before returning home. She was to be home by six that evening at the latest.
2:04.0	She had maybe ten pounds on her, but she didn't have her oyster card, the travel card used in London,
2:10.0	nor her mobile phone.
2:12.0	When she left the house, she was wearing a yellow band-out top,
2:16.0	a white bra with visible crossover straps in the back,
2:19.0	and grey leopard print leggings with black and pink runners on. She was reported as being 4 foot 5,
