Can you tell me a little bit about when you started out as an artist?

I know you graduated from the Hoffberger School of Painting, but what was it like for you when you were first starting out?

It was tough. I mean, I think that transitional period when you leave Art School, and the Hoffberger school was a graduate program and I'd

gone to art school when I was 16. It was really all I wanted to do. I dropped out of high school

in fact because I just wanted to get on with doing

art study and so there really wasn't anything else I wanted to do or study and if you go to

art school it's like going to trade school so that's kind of all you're really qualified to do in some respects

I need get at although I shouldn't say that because I think it's good training in many ways for lots of things, but it's very specialized training.

And I guess I was fortunate in that all I ever wanted to do was paint, but that's still, it's

still a difficult transition even if you don't have anything else kind of tugging on you.
