So, Catastroph is your favorite book about World War I?

For the actual nailing down the history of World War I, a catastrophe, and it's about

the early part of World War I, which is overlooked.

A lot of people will really get into the whole trench warfare thing because it went on

for, of the four year war from August 1914 to November 1918.

Most of it was the trench warfare that movies have been made about and lots of books have

been written about.

But the opening chapter of World War I was, was people charging across fields and old

kind of old style warfare.

And it was the bloodiest thing that has ever happened in the history of mankind.

The French lost way more people in one day than they ever have in any other circumstance,

including a D-Day.

The opening chapter of World War I is ugly, but any catastrophe by Max Hastings is great.

But if you want the more poetic view, I guess, literally would be true, war and modern

memory, which is considered one of the classics of all time is just a great book about

it.

Individuals talking about what it was like to fight in the war.

Just incredible.

Would you agree that one of the reasons World War I is not nearly discussed as often?

I mean, obviously the sequel was bigger and it was along what's that?

That's the main reason.

And it was long damn time ago.
