Welcome to the Prayers of Rass podcast. I'm your host, Asherita Juju, and I'll be leading you in prayer

using a simple guided format to help you slow down and hear God's voice. As we begin, find a quiet place where you won't be interrupted,

and take a deep breath as we become aware of God's loving presence,

around us and within us.

Today's reading comes from Matthew 6, verse 13, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver

us from the evil one.

Let's begin by reciting God's goodness, praising Him for who he is as revealed in this short

passage.

Oh God, thank you that because of Jesus, we don't have to face anything alone.

You God are always with us and even more than that, you are the conquering one.

You are the Almighty who has all the power.

And in one instant, you can vanquish and defeat the enemy. And even though sometimes it's

confusing, why there's still evil in the world, why there is still hardship and trials and sin and sickness

god we know that you are are doing good work in the world you are waiting to welcome more people

into your family and you are still in control and so so even in these tricky moments, even when we feel

tempted or drawn in by sin and temptation, I'd thank you that you are the one who generously

provides everything that we need right when we need it. You give us the way of escape. You give us

your own spirit within us, the victorious conquering one who empowers us to also conquer

temptation and trials and sin.

So in these next few moments, praise God for being the one who is always with you and who indwells you with his own spirit, the powerful conquering King Jesus. Let's continue by expressing our neediness, confessing our neediness, and for God and for his forgiveness, as revealed in today's passage.

Oh God, we confess that we don't always get this right.
