I'm your host, Ashthya Chuchu, and I'll be leading you in prayer using a simple guided prayer format to help you slow down and hear God's voice.

As we begin, find a quiet place where you won't be interrupted and take a deep breath

as we become aware of God's loving presence around us and within us.

Today's reading comes from Matthew 6, verse 11.

Give us today our daily bread.

Let's begin by reciting God's goodness,

praising him for who he is as revealed in this short passage.

Oh, Father, you are both gracious and generous and good.

You've made us for yourself and our satisfaction.

It really only comes in you and through you.

Oh, God, thank you that we can bring all of our requests to you, even daily food,

breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and every snack in between, every desire of our heart represented in the daily need for nourishment.

God, thank you that you are that generous father that provides everything we need.

That if we ask for fish, you won't give us a snake.

And if we ask for bread, you won't give us a snake, and if we ask for bread, you won't give us a stone,

how generous you are instead to provide abundantly more than all that we ask for.

How good you are.

How generous you are, Father, thank you.

So in these next few moments, praise God for how He has shown his goodness and generosity toward you in your own life, even just in the past few days. Let's continue now by expressing our neediness, confessing our neediness, confessing our need for God and his forgiveness.

Oh God, in your wisdom, you invite us and require us to come to you daily.

Jesus, you model for us that we would ask for daily bread, but I confess it'd just be a whole lot
