Am I basing my life on the gospel of the world or the Gospel of God?

We are surrounded by stories. Stories that try to make sense of the world. But not every story is true. In fact, there are many stories that are false. We are called to base our lives on the true story… The story of the Gospel of God.

0:00.0	My name is Father Mike Schmitz. You know, years ago, back in 2007, we started this homily podcast every single week as an opportunity to extend the ministry that we do up here at the University of Minnesota Duluth, the Newman Center, Bulldog Catholic,
0:13.2	were called to our students who had graduated, our students over summer break,
0:17.4	over Christmas break, and then, now since then, here we are in 2023, to the or whoever wants to listen to these homilies.
0:25.8	We are so grateful that I'm so grateful that you have listened to these homilies.

0:33.3	extension of our ministry up here at the University of Minnesota Duluth if you've been
0:37.7	blessed by these homilies if they have touched your life if they've
0:41.0	offered you some kind of support some kind of solace some kind of direction in your life if they've offered you some kind of support, some kind of
0:43.2	direction in your life if they've helped you get closer to the Lord or maybe
0:46.9	there's the kind of thing that you've passed them on to your children or
0:49.5	your grandchildren maybe you pass them on to siblings or your parents and they've helped them.
0:54.0	If this ministry has blessed you in any way,
0:57.0	I would just ask you, invite you to consider blessing this ministry.
1:01.0	On November 16th, that's this upcoming
1:03.3	November 16th, it's a Thursday, there's a thing here in Minnesota called
1:06.7	Give to the Max Day. And basically what that is is an opportunity.
1:09.7	It's kind of the one day of the year that we ask people who have been blessed by our ministry to,
1:14.3	I don't want to say, return the favor, but to consider a financial offering.
1:18.9	Now, yes, we have other things going on and bigger projects that are going to be happening in the next couple
1:23.4	months and years. But this is kind of for the ongoing ministry of reaching out to evangelize
1:28.7	college students on the campus up here in Duluth, actually multiple campuses up here in Duluth. If you're
