It is Wednesday of the last week of the regular season of college football.

And obviously, we want to talk playoff rankings at some

point. But there's also some big news in the coaching world Tuesday night. Oregon fired Mark

Helfrich. And so to talk about that, Bruce, why don't we bring on our favorite person in the

whole state of Oregon? Oh, smooth. Very smooth. You know. Is that Shantelle Jennings?

Sports Illustrated's Lindsay Schnell, she covers National College Football, but she's based in Portland and obviously has a good read on both

Oregon and Oregon State. And I'm curious, Lindsay, you actually wrote a column, I want to say a few

weeks ago, even as things were falling apart there, that you thought they should keep Mark

Halfricht, that it would be dumb for them to fire him after four years. Did that ever change?

Do you still feel that way? You know, the more I've looked at it and I've looked at recruiting,

I think it was ridiculous to get rid of him after one bad season. You know, no one's calling for

Mark D' Antonio's head at Michigan State. I think he should have been given a year to fix things.

You know, they're on their third defensive coordinator in four seasons. They had a ton of injuries

this year. You know, people talked about their defensive line wasn't good. They had like seven

defensive linemen who got hurt and missed games. They never had the same

group of kids going through the entire season. They started four redshirt freshmen on the
