What happened in Alabama this past week was kind of interesting.

Alabama has seven congressional districts.

And six of those seven are white.

Basically, we're talking about the population, primarily white, primarily black.

One is a black district that has primarily black citizens, residents in it.

Alabama's 27% black and has one congressional district.

So lawsuits were filed, of course they were, saying that when the congressional districts were drawn,

which happens every 10 years pursuant to the census,

what Alabama did, the legislature of Alabama,

which in fact draws up the districts,

basically drew it up unfairly.

Blacks didn't get representation,

and it went to court, yeah guess what you have no

representation you can't have 27% black population and have one district i mean you draw it up to

encircle uh black districts or white districts to make sure that those districts stay the way

they it does happens in congress all the time when you talk about congressional districts,
