Summary

In part two of Red Eye Radio with Gary McNamara and Eric Harley, a panel of three federal judges on Tuesday blocked Texas from using a new congressional map drawn by Republicans in hopes of securing the party additional seats in the 2026 midterm elections, ruling 2-1 that the map in question appeared to constitute an illegal, race-based gerrymander. The matter now goes to the Supreme Court. Also President Trump has given new insight as to when Americans could expect to receive $2,000 dividend checks funded by the country's tariff revenue. On Nov. 17, Trump spoke with reporters in the Oval Office and shared that "individuals of moderate income" could expect dividends in the middle of 2026. And that is the legal definition of monopoly.

Those are two things where I'm like, I have no idea where they're going.

1:01.3

It looks like, you know, every court takes a different view on it.

1:05.0

Now, what is interesting, and this is all about the fact that you had a three-panel judge of a district court come and knock down the

1:14.3

Texas redistricting map. Attorney General Ken Paxton says he will appeal it to the Supreme Court

of the United States. So the radical left is once again trying to undermine the will of the people.

1:25.4

This was passed entirely and it was legal and passed for partisan

1:28.7

purposes to better represent the political affiliations of Texas. The Attorney General said,

1:34.4

here's where I think that the unknown is here. As we know in October, the Supreme Court looked at

the redistricting in Louisiana from 2022.

1:48.0

And, you know, it looks like that they may repeal parts of that.

1:54.4

So anything that an appeals court would do would be based on current law, the Supreme Court, if they decide to look at this,

2:04.4

maybe looking at the test of, excuse me, Texas redistricting, it's a state I live in, damn it,
