2019 and we begin with one of Washington, D.C.'s favorite residence

airborne in style.

Today, Bebe, the Panda, will board a private Boeing 777F,

dubbed the Panda Express, for a flight to his new home in China.

Bebebe was born at the Smithsonian's National Zoo back in 2015.

As part of an agreement with conservationists, though,

all cubs born at the zoo must return to China when they turn four years old.

Bebei will be accompanied on his 15-hour journey by one Panda Keeper, one

veterinarian, and a snack pack containing 65 pounds of bamboo.

Giant pandas are native to China

and are considered a national treasure.

At last count, there were less than 2,000 left in the wild

and another 300 in zoos around the world.

There's a new twist in the impeachment inquiry.

President Trump now says he might take Speaker Pelosi up on her challenge for him to testify in his own defense.

In his words, he is strongly considering the possibility.

The President's testimony could be in person or more likely in writing.

There's no word if or when that might take place.

The public hearings meantime resumed today on Capitol Hill.
