I'm Stuart Mandel, and today Bruce Feldman is joining me over the phone somewhere in the state of Washington.

Where are you exactly?

I'm in the town that I've been warned, do not speed.

Colfax Washington does not play around apparently.

You go a mile over the speed limit. They're pulling you over.

So I'm on my way from Spokane, where I stayed last night, to go see Mike Leach. Fox wanted me to do a piece, so I'm up here. They have a big game against Colorado. So before I go to ECU for my game, I'm going to see Leach. It's going to be interesting. And I assume a bright sunny weather welcomed you when you got to Spokane Water. Man, this morning I was driving through snowfallfall i don't want to call it a blizzard because i grew up in upstate doors i'm used to

you know snowy weather but it just surprised me because this is part of it where there's snow

all over the ground and then you drive another 10 mile and it's basically rain but it's you know it's in

the 30s it was 32 degrees when I got in my car.

And so part of the story is Leach and I are going to go do his walk to work, which is almost

four miles.

And so we're going to be walking through some crappy weather.

That is so foreign to us here in California at this point in time, but it is that time of year in other

parts of the country. First of all, we have a really interesting guest later. You know,

people always hear about when it comes to coaching searches and they hear about these search firms

and they're very mysterious and nobody really knows what they do. So we're happy to get on one of the most established figures in that field, who is Jed Hughes.

He's with the firm Corn Ferry.

They have done a lot of high-profile coaching searches.

They fact, most notably Michigan when I hired Jim Harbaugh, Texas, when I hired both Charlie Strong and Shaka Smart.

So we're going to get to that interview.
