November 12th, 2025. And we begin with a forecast of falling iguanas. The cold snap we've

been talking about has reached as far south as South Florida, where overnight

temps this week dropped into the high 30s. That's the coldest it's been this early in the season

since 1976, and chilly enough to immobilize the tropics-loving reptiles to the point they

lose their grip and tumble out of trees. According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission,

the little lizards start getting sluggish in temperatures below 50 degrees,

then freeze when temperatures dip into the 40s.

Not to worry, though, once temps rise and they warm up, it's like it never happened.

If you see a frozen iguana, you don't have to do

anything. But for those wanting to speed up their recovery, the Miami Herald suggests wrapping it

in a warm towel and releasing it once it wakes. Weather watchers say Florida is expected to start

feeling like Florida again, starting tomorrow.

Today's a big day on Capitol Hill. Sometime in the next few hours, the House of Representatives will vote on the Senate-approved plan to end the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.

If it passes, as expected, it'll then go to President Trump's desk for his signature,

after which federal

employees can return to their jobs, and those who worked without pay should get the money
