2023. And we begin with a 10-year-old boy in England conquering his version of

Mount Everest for charity.

M. Say Craig rises 656 feet above the town of Skipton

quite a bit less than the 29,000 foot Everest, but for Luke Mortimer who lost both arms and both legs to an infection

three years ago, they might as well be one and the same.

Luke set his mind on climbing the crag to help the organizations that helped him through 23 surgeries

and outfitted him with the prosthetics or bionic limbs that he now uses.

On Saturday, hoping to raise 500 pounds or about 618 U.S.

dollars, he began his two-mile journey. By the time he reached the top, his fundraiser

had swelled to 12,000 pounds or nearly 15,000 dollars all for

limb power and children in need.

It was tough but I'm really happy and proud of myself, he told Metro. UK. I'm also pretty shocked.

Preparations are in high gear for the 97th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City.

Over the weekend, organizers held a test flight for the 16 massive balloons that will weave their way through Midtown two weeks from this Thursday.

Among them, a few new ones including Beagle Scout Snoopy, Blue Cat and Chugs, and

Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece.

Some are as tall as a five-story building,

and it takes as many as 90 people,

all of whom are either Macy's employees or their friends

to hold the ropes and steer each of the characters through the streets.
