Not that big day, not talking about the election. I'm talking about the NFL trade deadline. Trade deadlines are basically comfort food comfort food for the sports media when you think about it.

Kind of tasty, but empty calories rarely live up to the hype. It's one of those where you eat and then you go, I didn't get full.

You think you're full and then you realize there was nothing there and the NFL was no exception yesterday. No big names got dealt. Packers didn't get a wide receiver, JJ watch still with the text and step on Gilmore still is a patriot, even though his house is on the market and thanks in large part to complicated salary cap issues teams just couldn't pull the trigger on anything.

NFL rosters are basically said, although you're going to have some players cut today, some name players be cut today. It's a mad dash to the finish. You also have the looming cloud of COVID hovering overhead and then every season really is a war of attrition when you think about it.

This year it could come down to who has the most healthy bodies trade deadline was a dud, but the rest of the regular season should be exciting.
