Summary

A few weeks back, Jimmy discussed the basic differences between MOA and MRAD, and what these two units of measure actually represent. In this episode, Jimmy is reunited with Mark to talk to another Jimmy (Stick with us here on the names…) from Vortex all about using MOA and MRAD for more than just holdovers and wind calls, but actually estimating the range and sometimes size of a target through your reticle as well.

What's up everybody? We got 10 minutes here to talk further in depth on

0:05.0

MOA versus samurai. First off I should mention we almost didn't have 10 minutes to even talk about anything

0:10.4

because when MC Ryan is out and we have MC Eric everything goes to hell in a

0:14.8

hand basket Eric is over there MC Eric holding the PST looking through it just for fun

0:20.2

we got wires everywhere I had to set up the sound it's basically it's a mess

0:25.1

we're falling apart of the seams but one person that is not a mess that is a

0:29.8

excellent guest and has already been on the podcast once before.

0:33.4

Not a 10 minute talk though is Jimmy Jordan.

0:35.3

A close table here.

0:36.8

And okay, so I need to point out a couple of things.

0:39.9

Two things here.

0:40.7

First off, I made a generalization in the MOA versus Emrad podcast before.

0:45.7

It was actually just me on there. And I said that MOA and Emrad were pretty much only

0:51.0

used for essentially measuring bullet drop or using it for

0:55.5

bullet drop, pullovers and stuff like that. That's not exactly true. There are some other

0:58.9

uses for Emmrad that we're going to get into today. Also I I'd like to point out, if anybody caught me

1:04.5

when I was giving my example of giving a contractor

1:07.6

a measurement for a front door in angles

1:09.7

rather than a linear unit measurement,

1:11.3

like inches or feet, you you know is kind of my

1:13.9

comparison to whatever not using linear units to measure and shooting instead of

1:19.8

angular units I said that if you stood back a hundred yards from a front door and you told the contractor to put the front door 32 degrees high, that would be a front door for like the big friendly giant, holding the big friendly giant on his shoulders. Anyway, apologies there.
