fall is in the air and one third the fun of any hunt is telling the story afterwards. And that's

exactly what we're going to do. We're going to tell the stories of folks here internally at Vortex,

folks externally as well. We're going to do them as real time as possible, as close to the

close of these hunts as we can to capture the essence of the hunt, the energy of the hunt,

and hopefully give you some information you can take to the field.

for you here today kelly welcome to the podcast this is time. In fact, we've never met before. We've never talked before. Josh here at work, he's buddies with you. And he popped upstairs the other day. And he's like, hey, Mark, he's like, my buddy Kelly killed this giant Velvet Bowl. This thing is legit huge. He showed him, like, oh my gosh, that's insane. He's like, I think it would be a great story to cover on the podcast. And I was like, well, I'm glad you mentioned this because it is a great story. And we just launched this new series. So it works out perfect. The timing worked out perfect. So, Kelly, thank you to you for, you know, going out and killing this giant bull because it was worked out

a super convenient for us on our end that's why i did it yeah no thank you for having me i appreciate

it uh give me the opportunity to at least tell my story a little bit yeah and get it out there so thanks

so welcome so yeah you know before we get too deep i mean maybe you know give us a little tell us a little

bit about you know who you are what you're up to your background where you're from all those things

and how you even ended up with the opportunity to to pursue a bull like this yeah so uh i grew up in

southeast iowa so land of the giant white tails and started hunting back there and actually hunted right

around the albia buck hunted that same deer saw him when I was I think I was 17 no kidding

of course you would have probably seen my name before if I could have pulled that off but you know

still killed some giants back there luckily and, and it was blessed enough to live a

childhood there of hunting white tails and turkeys. But I joined the Air Force straight out of high

school, got stationed in New Mexico, and then stationed up here in Utah. And a career of active

duty military, and, you know, I've been in utah since 2008 left a little bit to go back
