What is up everybody we have ten minutes to talk about a cartridge that I guess at its birth or at least when I became aware of it the fanfare and the speculation and what it was going to be doing the used for replacing replacing iconic cartridges that we've used for many years

for a lot of the red carpet if you if you don't know what we're talking about right now or what we're going to talk about I've got Jim and Ryan here to help me it's the 6.8 SPC

oh yeah Ryan this was like an I mean I just remembered like you know whatever forums people talking about it just I mean up and down back and forth this thing is the best sense of slice it's saying things since sliced bread it's going to replace the light bulb

I mean what's going on with this thing not much I just said because I had to I saw more friendships ruined online with this cartridge on some of those gun forums than I thought even possible so the requirement for an intermediate cartridge between five five six by 45 NATO and seven six two by 51 NATO was presented this was the offering

and so again I think maybe a lot of folks didn't necessarily understand who's asking for this cartridge and why and and just started speculating on what it could or couldn't do or what it does and doesn't do where it should or shouldn't be it's a good little cartridge.

Now okay correct me if I'm wrong well people have been kind of wanted to what what's the word replace the five five six since like it's very inception but there I feel like was a period of time where everybody just kind of was like all right it's here to stay.

And then the 6.8 SPC was kind of the one that got the conversation rolling again because now since that time we've heard all kinds of things about this that the other things six five grandle the six five creed more which maybe even really is the thing now like all these other

cartridges are going to for sure now replace the five five six but the 6.8 SPC I mean it had to kind of be the one to take the black eye of starting that charge again yeah that's when I feel like because I mean it was like out of nowhere boom five five six is going away and this thing's going to come on scene it's so much but everybody was like all about how much better it wasn't a suppressed and all this.

I was not a t-shirt I actually hit the button I was going to happen to hit the boo button while I was talking same kind of stuff went on in all the forums too yeah no you're right I think I think that was that was the intent I think you're right the six eight did take a black eye I think it lost a couple teeth to there's a lot of folks just dog on this cartridge for whatever reason they start looking at energy and I mean.

I don't even know it's a good cartridge I think in the role that it was asked for it and what was that role I'm an intermediate distance combat cartridge we're not looking for a 308 replacement but we are looking for something that get the job done in spaces of the 308 occupies in standard platform standard size standard weight standard magazines.

And something that's got more snooze than the five five six firing a 62 green penetrator and it does that I think does very good job I mean folks don't have a lot to say about the seven six to my thirty nine I was like one of the most prolific battle cartridges of all time.

And the six and spc and some figures and categories exceeds and excels over that cartridge handling it does a good job I think it's a good cartridge.

It just seems like whenever you try and have something that's like it's kind of in between it's a little bit like this I never does well yeah true does it no everybody's always looking for it but then when you actually get it you're always kind of left feeling a bit.

Yeah I'm impressed and you know I don't I don't know what is required to satiate the masses with this I mean it is a better solution than the five five six when you look at the things that the five five six isn't good at careful it is a better solution than a seven six to in some categories when you look at.

What that thing can do doesn't mean that all this seven six two's got you know thousand more foot pounds energy it's obviously better well sure so is a 50 BMG but we're not going to be out one of those around every day right yeah it's a good cartridge I know people that have a hundred with it my fact I am with the guy every year use the six eight spc killed a primord with it I mean some diameter bull as a two seventy.

Yeah kind of came or six eight western well it's kind of like sort of sputtered in like been adopted by some people are like well no it's not.

That bad then it kind of falls out of the like you know again but I feel like one of the latest crazes where I've seen six pointed spc used a lot it's like all this and I found out like all these Texas pig hunters were using yeah and it was like.

They were all like why would you not use the six point is spc even saw factory guns that were designed as like hog hunters in specifically six point eight spc and now that's funny because that's a tough critter.

Uh-huh hogs are not white tails no they're kind of thick yeah now I imagine though they're probably running a ours sure yeah so it's going to fit that's what all the hog nicely and work nice.

Yeah rifles I remember seeing yep yeah we we had some folks up here Texas not that long go talking about we all shoot six eight spc's.

They all shoot the barns or the acu bond and they hammer pigs with them they love them what grain will it then like 85 to 120 okay in there but you're talking probably you know.

Close to not even really medium range probably.
