Summary

Competition, duty use and certain hunting scenarios can all benefit from the utilization of a 45 degree offset red dot. Why? Reuben and Adam join Jimmy for 10 minutes to give you the quick and dirty behind offset red dots, their history, their applications in numerous shooting scenarios and why you might even want to use an offset red dot even when your primary optic is also a red dot! This episode comes to you via a listener request. We love getting listener requests for these talks, so keep them coming, Vortex Nation!

What's up everybody? We got 10 minutes to talk about red dots at an angle on rifles,

0:04.5

aka offset red dots. This was a request from a listener in our Instagram

0:08.9

DMs on at vortex Nation podcast on Instagram. We have Ruben Alexon and we have Adam Maxwell here to

0:46.5

needing the ability to be up close and personal, you know, have one power, but then also

0:51.0

having magnification for longer distance engagements.

0:54.0

So I think that's a big part of it.

0:55.4

Adam may be able to speak a little bit.

0:56.7

Yeah, if you rewind maybe like 10 years ago, a lot of the common usage optics that were

1:01.1

being used on carbeans were fixed power optics so they were

1:04.0

fixed at three four six something like that and so guys

1:08.0

prison type optics yeah so guys using them for duty type use they still needed a

1:11.9

CQB type option.

1:13.5

They needed to take a point blank shot.
