Summary

We recently got back from a weeklong trip with 4 other families. Our group consisted of 10 adults, 5 four year olds and 3 two year olds. We had a blast. But, don’t mistake fun for rest. I wouldn’t say it was relaxing….    This is the second year we have traveled with this group. After doing this twice, I can say I wholeheartedly endorse group travel when you have little kids. BUT – you must be prepared and know what you’re getting into.    This episode will highlight my 8 lessons learned traveling with 8 kids:   Snacks all the time, everywhere Eat in vs eating out Meltdowns Adult free time Daily down time The beauty and fallout of treats and screens Buffer day Nothing is as great as it seems, nothing is as bad as it seems   Learn more about your ad choices. 0:31.1

proud of, what kind of legacy are you building? So let's dive in.

0:39.4

Hello, shameless moms.

0:40.9

Or should I say Aloha?

0:46.6

No, actually I shouldn't say Aloha because I'm back from Hawaii and that dream is like done and over with and now I'm sick.

0:48.8

So I have a fever.

0:51.3

I have a cough.

0:52.4

But as long as I have a little Advil under in me, it's all manageable.

0:57.2

So this is how vacation works, right? You go on vacation with kids and you don't really rest at all,

1:04.8

so then you get sick as soon as you get home. And in my case, I have to get on a two-leg trip to Asia tomorrow, which will be

1:14.0

17 hours of travel combined, two flights. So one is 11 hours, I think, and one is four hours

1:20.8

with like an hour in between or something. I don't know. It's a lot of flying. So I'm hoping to kick

1:26.2

this sickness quickly. And so I'm taking all sorts of supplements

1:30.2

and a little bit of Advil to get through my day. And I'm prioritizing. So here's the thing.

1:36.1

When your body's telling you to slow down, you have to listen to it. But in some cases,

1:40.3

you can't just stop everything. So like this recording has to get done today because it's my

1:45.0

only chance to record before I leave. But there's other things that don't have to get done today.
