Hi everyone, welcome to the art of Catholic.

I'm Matthew Leonard and today the shoot is kind of on the other foot, so to speak.

I'm getting interviewed instead of doing the

interviewing and I'm going to be interviewed by my friends Fred Shella-Barger and

Kara Cardell who both are from the diocese of Sue City. And we're going to be

talking about some very practical and deep topics actually. We're going to talk

about deeper prayer. We're going to talk about the mystical life and what it means

for each one of us even practically practically speaking, in our vocation no matter what it is. We also dive into

a redemptive suffering and talk about how to apply that to our lives. And there's lots of other

conversations as well. We do some comparing and contrasting with the way that Fred and I were both

raised as Protestants to how it is we view certain things as Catholics. In fact, Fred and I were both raised as Protestants to how it is we view certain things as Catholics.

In fact, Fred and I both attended Oral Roberts University back in the day at different times

because I'm a little older than he is, but that we have a very similar experience.

And so it's interesting to talk about that a little bit as well.
