By the time people are diagnosed, 50% of people with type 2 diabetes are already showing signs

of complications. That's really important for us to be aware of. One of the things that often comes up

early on is, I didn't know. I wasn't diagnosed early enough. My doctor missed it. I'm angry at them.

I missed it. I'm angry at myself. I should have come to the doctor sooner and maybe I wouldn't have these complications.

So in addition to just having to wrap their head around the diagnosis of diabetes,

they're also having to accept, work to accept the fact that because they didn't do preventative or preemptive care,

they may be experiencing complications sooner than they necessarily would have.
