I'm James Dyer and welcome to the pilot TV podcast a show that has taken a vow of

televisual celibacy this week in protest at

HBO Max not showing the West Wing reunion special on these shores. But

while we can't watch Aaron Sorkin and Tommy Slammy stage reenactment of the episode Hart's Fields Landing from season three at least for now we can do one better because after a hundred and seven episodes and what must be at least 150 odd hours of me banging on about the West Wing

as the greatest achievement in the history of the human race.

Terry White, our Terry White, she of the misery porn and the gritty

counselor state dramas finally succumbed to my Sorkinys

bombardment and sat down to watch the show.

Now, did she love it for its peerless writing, its cracking dialogue,

its glorious sets and intricate walk and talks, or did she find it a mawkish concoction of

liberal wank fantasy that completely ignores the plight of the working class and fails to properly address the ordeals faced by women in the workplace.

I genuinely don't know the answer because we've deliberately not discussed it until this moment.
