We're gonna start off with some news.

Nicaragua is back in the news, Maria.

President Daniel Lortega,

basically try to enact a Social Security reform policy that it just increased all the

contributions of workers and employers but then it lowered the benefits and that just

led to more than 25 people died.

There was a Facebook live video of a journalist getting shot to death.

It was gruesome in a national address.

Or Thea, he was like, oh oh we got to cancel these social security reforms but you have to remember who I was alive I was not covering it yeah

during the Sandinista revolution of which Daniel ortega was a leader in the late 70s.

In the late 70s, you know, the Sandinistas won the revolution in 1979.

So it was actually a modern revolutionary guerrilla leftist movement that wins, you know, and Daniel Ortega was a part of that.

Looking into the streets what I was seeing I was like Jesus Christ.

This is like 1979, but it's a different generation who don't look at Daniel Ortega and say,

oh my God, you respectable, you know, revolutionary turned, really strange conservative, whatever

he is.

You know, one of the things that I'm seeing in the reporting, and also I've talked to a Nicaraguan

American for Latino rebels radio, is that it's not just a right-wing conspiracy that people might say in the
