Whoa, hello, and welcome to the 108 episode of Curiosityness.

I'm Travis DeRose, the host, and I'm currently drinking coffee.

And it's one of the six beverages that have distinguished history. That's a pretty

bad intro. But whatever, we'll just roll with it. I have on today, Tom Standage, he is the author

of a book called A History of the World in Six Glasses. And boy, boy, this is a fun episode.

It's full of those fun little facts, did you know kind of things.

But just for a sneak peek, the six beverages, the six glasses are beer, wine, spirits,

you know, rum, gin, stuff like that, coffee, tea, and cola.

So that's it. We kind of dive through and talk about how all these

beverages are connected to history, how they all are kind of connected to each other and lead

into different things, how the remnants of these beverages are still around today. But like, I mean,

obviously we're still drinking all these things, but like the, uh,

the social customs and everything that these drinks came about.

And, whew, I'm having a hard time explaining it.

It's, it's just a fun episode.
