they're going to be speaking to us about Turkey's increasingly worrying

expansionist plans into Cyprus.

There will soon be a meeting trying to sort out this situation between

the occupied North Cyprus where Turkish troops are and the Greek Cypriots and the rest.

It's not looking like it's going to go too well, so these two are going to talk to us about that.

So we're going to be talking about Cyprus before we get into what's happening right now with Turkey kind of eyeing it up a little bit

Maybe go into the history of the situation there for us, please because I think there's a lot of

listeners that are quite young here will have no recollection or won't have heard

about the kind of conflict there the occupation some might call it of

certain parts of Cyprus by Turkey

maybe just go into that for us and explain the history and why there's a

potential conflict looming. The Cyprus problem remains one of the unsolved problems in this part of the world, in the whole

sub-perifery of the Eastern Mediterranean and it's also a very important historically

issue regarding the Greek-Turkish relations. The history of the Cyprus problem goes back to the early 50s during the de-colonial

era and then it was during the Greek Cypriot armed struggle for freedom and independence.
