Hello everybody. Welcome back to Daily Easy English Expression, the podcast. Today, number 1,067. So for me right now,

it is August of 2022. It's a heart of the summer. We're right in the middle of the summer, but at the same time, summer is also

kind of finishing. It's going to finish pretty quickly at this point, and soon it will be fall,

and I love the fall. But today's expression actually has the word spring in it, S-P-R-I-N-G.

Now, if we think about spring, what happens?

Obviously, the snow melts, the flowers bloom, trees come back to life.

But another really common thing in America, at least, probably in your country too,

lots of new baby chickens.

Now, of course, chickens can have babies any time of the year,

but for many farmers and people who like to raise chickens at home, they like to have

newborn chickens in the spring. And we call them spring chickens. Now, actually, a baby chicken is

called a chick, C-H-I-C-K. But spring chicken is the term we commonly use and we like them and we also use

the term spring chicken as an idiom, especially if we say, I'm not a spring chicken. And what does this idiom mean?
