podcast, episode number 106 today and a pretty different and reactive episode. On today's show,

I'm joined by Sam Bowle. Sam is the manager down at Rogate Bike Park, where we host a Freedom Ride 2020.

For those not familiar with the UK landscape, it is in the south.

It's just a little bit below London in a pretty sort of famous area called the Surrey Hills.

Sam is part of the B1KE or the bike organization too which manages Tidworth Bike Park,

Windhill, S4P and of course, Rodeate.

And on this episode, we wanted to discuss what it means to be a responsible mountain biker

and user of the great outdoors, not just in the UK, but globally too. There's been a few issues

local to where Sam lives. So we wanted to use these issues as a framework to sort of discuss

what it means to be a mountain biker and discuss some of the sort of issues that we come up

against, maybe some stereotyping issues, the issue of litter out on the trails,

the influx of new people to the sport, and also discuss liability and land ownership.

I want to stress before we get into this episode that I really hope that it acts as a conversation

starter and a thought provoker for anyone out there who goes out,

mountain biking or doing anything outdoors and really think about the impact you are having,

not only on the people that you meet when you're outdoors,

but the impact that you have on your environment, you know, about picking up litter,

about always being kind and considerate.

important, especially right now as there are more people mountain biking. So if you are new to the
