If you've been following along then you know we've been learning a lot about Elisha.

Elisha was a man of God who lived his life in obedience to the word of the Lord.

As the years went by, Elisha grew older and it came time for

him to leave this earth. Many of the Israelites who knew Elisha and knew his ministry were saddened by his death.

Elisha had been a man who talked freely with kings and common people alike.

Some loved him, others hated him. In a time of war, famine, and much

suffering he had been like a tower of strength to all who remained loyal to the God of heaven.

Even the King of Israel came to see Elisha for wisdom and advice one last time before

Elisha died.

Elisha was not taken to heaven in a fiery chariot as Elijah had been.

He died quietly as others die, and they buried him in Israel.

Now we've been spending a lot of time in the Northern Kingdom of

Israel.

Elisha had lived in the Northern Kingdom. His ministry was mainly to the Northern

Kings of Israel who had been disobedient and

done evil in the sight of the Lord. But now it's time for us to turn our attention

back to the southern kingdom of Judah. What has been going on down

south while we've been learning about Elijah and Elijah up in the north? Well, you may already be familiar with the King of the Southern Kingdom of

Judah that we are going to learn about today. In fact, his story is the very first episode of the Truth Seekers podcast and today we are going to listen again to that first episode

since it fits in the timeline of where we are in the Old Testament right now. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I do.
