Today we're sharing a strategic but stressful decision we made for our duplex renovation

and how it almost went smoothly.

So let's go back to duplex progress guys.

We did something I'd call highly unusual for the plumbing at the duplex.

I would know no of highly is accurate, but at least it was not as we originally planned.

Because to back up real quick, one lesson we learned from doing the pink house where we did use John our contractor for most things.

But we did that project kind of piecemeal.

Like he quoted one part at a time and sometimes we used other subcontractors like we had a different person do all the painting.

Because he was cheaper than John's quote.

But we realized in retrospect that was not the smartest way to do it because I think by piecemealing things we not only slowed things down, but I don't think we actually saved all that much money.
