I'm your host Heather Ashley and today's case is out of Maine.

Marissa Kennedy was the first daughter to her mother Sharon and the early years of raising Marissa was for the most part shared between Sharon, Sharon's father and Sharon's stepmother.

They all lived in New York together and seemed like one big happy family.

According to WGME, Marissa was the kind of child that never met a stranger and would even seek out the shy kids to make sure that they felt heard and seen.

Marissa loved Elsa and Anna playing with dolls and she loved books.

She loved to read for her books where this fantasy world where anything was possible.

And before she was even 10, the outlet reports that she was already reading the Harry Potter series.

Marissa was an old soul and wise beyond her years.

The outlet reports that she already knew what she wanted to be when she grew up, which was an oceanographer because she was fascinated by the animals of the ocean.

They all seemed so unique and endless that she could spend hours in an aquarium getting lost in it all.

By the time Marissa turned six, her mom Sharon had met and married a guy named Julio.

Julio was 18 years older than her mother.

Julio and Sharon went on to have two more children together and by 2016, they decided that they were going to leave New York where their families lived and move up to Maine.
