in the Central African Republic, a small country in the center of Africa.

There's not that much reporting on the place, but there's been a very brutal war that has reignited recently.

The war crimes carried out are

absolutely horrific. Jack's gonna explain to us how this all happened.

What is happening and you know maybe just kind of tell us about how this is actually part of a kind of

long ongoing war because I don't think a lot of people realize

that there has even been a conflict there in recent years.

That's right and I think a lot of people wouldn't even realize that

the country Central African Republic exists.

When I first started reporting on this place a few years ago, I'd tell people that I'm going to the

Central African Republic and they'd go, oh right Congo, you're in there Central African Republic and they go, oh right Congo,

you're in there Central African Republic,

and they're like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah,

Congo, Central Africa, yeah, sure.

So I mean this, it really has been the periphery of the periphery for so long but it is a

country and this country of 4 million people and it's increasingly drawing in other countries as well and gaining, this
