Welcome to the Lord of the Rings lore cast, the show that explores the background of Tolkien's works, there are certain things that you can put your finger on.

You can point to, and you can say, this is really cool because of this other thing. For example,

this word is very interesting because it is derived from these other words in Elvin or whatever.

And you can point to a direct correlation.

This theme is really interesting because this character suffers from it and it reoccurs throughout the story.

You can put your finger on those kinds of things.

There's something that I struggle to pin down exactly about the way that he tells stories around the most, I don't know, interesting or important topics, and the way that he takes a point, something

that you probably can predict as a reader, as somebody who's read fantasy

stories or fiction just in general, and you have a general sense of where things are going,

how things will play out. And yet, he takes his time with them.

He lets certain things in the stories mature, percolate, happen at their own pace.

I'm not exactly sure what to call this, because there are definitely moments in the stories,

especially in the stories, especially in

the stories like in the Silmarillion, where you end up with these big overviews, and some

things get real drawn out, and they get zoomed in, and you get lots of details, and other things

are just glossed over very quickly. Well, this happened, and then this happened, and then this

happened.

And in those cases, yeah, you can't say that he takes his time with certain key aspects of the story.

He just kind of states them and moves on.

But in the moments where we are zoomed in and there is something particularly interesting, for example, in the story that we're talking about

today, this story is called Aldarion and Arendus, the mariner's wife. It gives up the goat.
